Meet the people of GHTA!
When we interview for 40 new students every 6 months, we see over one hundred people. It is wonderful to see the interest in, and passion for, our free Adult Education Centre. We wish we could help everyone but the school, of course, has limits.
When we interview and choose students, we strive to meet these goals:
- Women over 30 with harsh economic challenges and families to support
- At least 80% women in each class
- 80 students a year – two groups of 40 students for the six-month course
- Goal of opening 10 businesses a year – most businesses get started at the Women’s Co-operative
- The ability and commitment to attend classes, do homework, and study hard
